Koliwada lands to be registered in fishermen’s names in 15 days!

Immediate execution of the former decision

Mumbai, 22nd (Correspondent) - The decision to register the areas around the fisherman's houses and the fish drying spaces was taken many years ago. Fisheries Industry Business Minister Madhukarrao Chavan has ordered to take action on that decision in the next 15 days.

This decision was taken in the meeting held in the presence of former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Ashok Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister R.R. Patil. According to this, the demand for registration of the land around the house and the fish drying areas in the name of the fishermen in the name of the fishermen was accepted on Satbara (7/12) and registration cards; But as no action has been taken on this decision yet, President Damodar Tandel took out a statewide march and demanded that the needful be done.

According to that demand, a meeting was held today in the Ministry under the chairmanship of Fisheries Industry Business Minister Madhukarrao Chavan. In that meeting, Principal Secretary of Revenue Department Swadhin Kshatriya and the Konkan Commissioner have been ordered to take action within 15 days.

* The brokers who sell fish, by correcting the name of the fishermen's organization, have embezzled Rs. 125 crores from the National Cooperative Development Corporation Scheme by reviving the illegal organization from the deputy registrar. Chavan also ordered that immediate action be taken on this, and a report be submitted within 15 days.

* Along with this, through the National Cooperative Development Corporation, a proposal to give a loan of Rs. 1 lakh to a person below the Poverty line was approved.

Worli Naka (Correspondent): Amid the struggle over development in Worli, imposter builders have started a rampage of unauthorized constructions in Worli Koliwada. Unauthorized buildings of two to three floors have started coming up along the beach. Rooms in these unauthorized buildings are being sold to citizens with the help of brokers. Citizens are also buying houses by paying as much money is being demanded, all for the allure of a South-Central Mumbai address. That is why these imposter builders have been having a field day.

These unauthorized constructions are in violation of the CRZ Act. The environmental problem is also becoming serious. Due to the fact that these buildings are built right on the beach, the lives of the residents are in danger. During high tide, water enters the houses. During the monsoons, the situation here is a lot more dire, but the residents expressed helplessness that they have no choice but to live here, due to lack of accommodation elsewhere.

In this regard, a departmental social worker said that these constructions are flourishing due to governmental patronage. No license is required from the builders who are doing such unauthorized constructions. Basically, such constructions cannot be done keeping the administration in the dark, so the needle of suspicion turns towards the encroachment department and the police. Due to overcrowding in Worli village, the infrastructure is under stress.There is an increase in the population due to the constructions made by imposters, and he also expressed the opinion that the problem of water, electricity and sanitation has become serious.

When we contacted Narayan Pai, Assistant Commissioner of G-South Division, to know the role of the administration in this regard, he said that because such unauthorized constructions are not reported on time, action takes time, but if such constructions are going on in the respective places, they will be verified and action will be taken.
