Windfall Catch of Prawns on Worli Coast

Mumbai, 5th: Fishermen in Worli Koliwada have been finding large numbers of prawns near the sea link for the past two days. Prawns are usually expensive, but after being told that one can get a whole basket of prawns for 50 rupees, the gourmands have begun flocking. Fishermen are also happy and surprised.
One has to go far into the sea to catch prawns; however, there was a large number of prawns found near the Sea Link on Thursday (5th) and the Worli coast too was flooded with prawns. In every house in Koliwada, prawns were being shelled andsome stored as much as they could in the fridge. Many fishermen are selling prawns for Rs 58 per basket. Fishmongers are buying cheap prawns and selling them at double the price in Dadar market.
There has been a jellyfish alert since the past two days from Girgaon Chowpatty to Dahanu coast. Large jellyfish are being sighted. Experts have warned that their bite can be fatal. Jellyfish found from the Mumbai coast to Dahanu migrate to the deep sea after the monsoons. Because of that, they are annual visitors, said Pradeep Pathade, a marine wildlife photographer.
वरळी किनाऱ्यावर कोळंबीचे पीक!

कोळीवाड्यातील मच्छीमारांना दोन नदिवसांपासून सी लिंकजवळ मोठ्या- प्रमाणावर कोळंबी सापडू लागलीआहे. एरवी कोळंबी खाणे म्हणजेखिशाला चाट; परंतु वरळीलाटोपलीभर कोळंबी ५० रुपयांना'मिळते म्हटल्यावर खवय्ये तिकडेधावू लोंगले आहेत. किनाऱ्याजवळकोळंबी मिळू लागल्याने मच्छीमारआश्चर्य आणि समाधानही व्यक्‍तकरीत आहेत.
कोळंबीसाठी खोल समुद्रातजावे लागते; मात्र सी लिंकच्याजवळपास मोठ्या प्रमाणावरकोळंबी मिळाल्याने गुरुवारी(ता. ५) वरळी बकिनाऱ्यावर कोळंबीचा ढौग होता.कोळीबाड्यातील प्रत्येक घरात

आडवा हत मासा आणि काहींनीजमेल तेवढी फ्रीजमध्ये साठवून 'ठेवळो. अनेक मच्छीमार काळ टोपलीभर कोळंबी ५८ रुपयांना विकत आहेत. मासळी विक्रेते स्वस्त कोळंबी खरेदीकरून दादरच्या बाजारात दुप्पट भावाने बिकत आहेत.
जेलीफिशचा धोकादोन दिवसांपासून गिरगाव चौपाटीते डहाणू किनारपट्टीपर्यंत.मोठ्याआकाराचे जेलीफिश आढळू लागले आहेत. त्यांचा दंश घातकठरू शकतो, असा इशारा तज्ज्ञांनीदिला आहे. मुंबई किनारपट्टीपासूनडहाणूपर्यंत आढळणारे जेलीफिशपावसाळा संपल्यावर खोल समुद्रातजातात. त्यांमुळे हे दरवंर्षीचे पाहुणे आहेत, अशी माहिती समुद्री जीवांचेछायाचित्रण करणारे प्रदीप पाथाडेयांनी सांगितली.
