As the Lok Sabha elections are around the corner, there is an emphasis on speeding up the work on the Coastal Road. The administration is trying to start some phases of this road before the elections.
Mumbai, 28th: The rush has begun, to complete the Coastal Road work before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta has ordered the complete geotechnical survey for the coastal road to be submitted within the prescribed time frame, and final diagrams of tunnels, bridges and jetties on the coastal road to be submitted immediately. He inspected the preparatory works of the projects on Tuesday (27th)
A Coastal Road of 9.98 km will be constructed from the flyover on Shamaldas Gandhi Marg (Princess Street) to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Its preparatory work is going on in full swing. Municipal Commissioner Mehta inspected the works on Tuesday, as did Additional Commissioner Sanjeev Sethi, Deputy Commissioner (Engineering) Rajeev Kuknoor, Chief Engineer (Coastal Road) Mohan Machiwala who were also present on this occasion. Tunnel, bridge, jetty, etc. will be completed soon.
The work to be undertaken was reviewed. The Commissioner reviewed the preparatory work of the tunnel near Priyadarshini Park, a proposed jetty at Amarsons Park, an 'interchange' bridge etc. After that he went to Haji Ali and Worli and gave orders to the concerned persons to carry out the necessary geotechnical survey for the works within the time limit.

निवडणुकीपूर्वी काही टप्पे सुरू करण्याचा प्रयत्न
लोकसभा निवडणूक तोंडावर आल्याने सागरी मार्गाची कामे लवकर करण्यावरभर दिला जात आहे. निवडणुकीपूर्वी या मार्गाचे काही टप्पे सुरू व्हावेत, असाप्रशासनाचा प्रयत्न आहे.
मुंबई, ता. २८ : आगामी लोकसभानिवडणुकीपूर्वी सागरी मार्ग पूर्ण करण्याची. घाई सुरू झाली आहे. सागरी मार्गावरीलबोगदा, पूल आणि जेट्रीसाठीचेभू-तांत्रिक सर्वेक्षण विहीत मुदतीत पूर्णकरा. त्याची अंतिम आरेखने तातडीनेसादर करा, असे आदेश महापालिका 'आयुक्त अंजोय मेहता यांनी दिले आहेत.त्यांनी प्रकल्पांच्या पूर्वतयारीच्या कामांचीमंगळवारी (ता. २७) पाहणी केली.
शामलदास गांधी मार्गावरील(प्रिन्सेस स्ट्रीट) उड्डाणपुलापासून वरळी-वांद्रे सागरी सेतूपर्यंत ९.९८ किलोमीटरअंतराचा सागरी मार्ग बांधला जाणारआहे. त्याच्या पूर्वतयारीची कामे वेगातसुरू आहेत. महापालिका आयुक्त मेहतायांनी मंगळवारी कामांची पाहणी केली.या वेळी अतिरिक्‍त आयुक्त संजीव सेठी,उपायुक्‍त (अभियांत्रिकी) राजीव कुकनूर,प्रमुख अभियंता (कोस्टल रोड) मोहनमाचिवाला आदी उपस्थित होते. त्यांनीपाहणी केली. बोगदा, पूल, जेट्टी आदीसुरू असलेल्या कामांसह लवकरच हाती
घेतल्या जाणाऱ्या कामांचा आढावाघेतला.प्रियदर्शनी पार्कजवळून सुरूबोगद्याचे काम, अमरसन्स उद्यान येथीलप्रस्तावित जेट्टी, 'इंटरचेंज' स्वरूपाचापूल आदींच्या पूर्वतयारी कामांचाआयुक्तांनी आढावा घेतला. त्यानंतरत्यांनी हाजीअली, वरळी येथे जाऊनकामांसाठी आवश्यक भू-तांत्रिक सर्वेक्षण अ.विहीत मुदतीत पूर्ण करावे, असे आदेशआयुक्तांनी संबंधितांना दिले.
