There is no coordination regarding rehabilitation!
Displeasure of the High Court at the concerned systems
Mumbai, 19th : Regarding the ambitious coastal road project, the Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed its strong displeasure regarding the lack of coordination between the Central Govt, State Govt. and the Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
No clear information has been given by the government and the municipal corporation about the rehabilitation of citizens affected by the coastal road and what steps to take regarding fishing. ‘The Centre needs to have complete information, therefore, the Centre cannot give an answer that they are not responsible’ the bench proclaimed.If the government is implementing the project, they should also think about the rehabilitation of around 700 Koli families. If this doesn't happen, then such progress should not be happening’ the bench expressed their displeasure in these strong words. The petition will be heard next Tuesday (26th).
What plans?
The bench comprising Chief Justice Naresh Patil and Justice Nitin Jamdar took up the question of whether the fishing zone had been fixed for the local fishermen. The court asked what plans had been drawn up for the Koli community for their fishing activities.
