Mumbai, 9th: The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) has given a survey report that there is a possibility of adverse impact on fish breeding in the marine areas where dredging will be done under the Worli to Versova coastal road project. The High Court directed the Municipal Corporation to disclose this report on Tuesday (9th).
On Tuesday, the hearing on the petitions filed by the Worli Koliwada Nakhawa and Worli Koliwada Sarvodaya Cooperative Society was held before the bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and Justice Nitin Jamdar. On behalf of the petitioners, Advocate Gayatri Singh filed the report of the expert committee before the bench. The report has been prepared by the local center of the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, it has been clarified that after only two days of inspection, a comprehensive report cannot be given. The petitioners had demanded that the coastal road work in the concerned area should be prohibited for the time being. In this regard, the bench directed that the Municipal Corporation should explain its position through an affidavit by April 23rd.

वरळी कोळीवाडा नाखवा आणि वरळी कोळीवाडा सर्वोदयसहकारी संस्था यांनी केलेल्या याचिकांवर मंगळवारी मुख्यन्यायधीश न्या. प्रदीप नंद्राजोग आणि न्या. नितीन जामदारयांच्या खंडपीठापुढे सुनावणी झाली. याचिकादारांच्या वतीनेअँड. गायत्री सिंग यांनी तज्ज्ञ समितीचा अहवाल खंडपीठापुढेदाखल केला. केंद्रीय सागरी मत्स्यव्यवसाय संशोधन संस्थेच्यास्थानिक केंद्राने हा अहवाल तयार केला आहे, दोन दिवसांच्यापाहणीनंतर सर्वकष अहवाल देता येणार नाही, असेही स्पष्टकरण्यात आले आहे. संबंधित भागातील किनारी मार्गाच्याकामाला तूर्तास मनाई करावी, अशी मागणी याचिकादारांनी केलीहोती. याबाबत महापालिकेने २३ एप्रिलपर्यंत प्रतिज्ञापत्राद्वारेभूमिका स्पष्ट करावी, असे निर्देश खंडपीठाने दिले.
