Opposition to new fishing laws
Objection to right of punishment.
Ratnagiri, 30th: The Maharashtra Fishermen Action Committee has made a serious allegation that the Cabinet has passed the Maharashtra Marine Fisheries Regulation Act, 1981, thus allowing illegal fishing boats to operate, and corrupt officials to indulge in corruption.
Under the Maharashtra Sea Fisheries Regulation Act, 1981, the authority to take action against boats violating the law is with the Fisheries Department and the power to impose punishment rests with the Tehsildar as the Assessing Officer of the Revenue Department. However, citing an increase in these cases, the new ordinance has declared the Fisheries Officer as the Assessing Officer instead of the Tehsildar.

Legal risk of corruption
The job of the police is to catch the criminals and the job of the judges is to punish them. But in the new law, the police will arrest the criminals and the same police will pronounce punishments. This can only mean that corrupt fisheries officers have been given legal permission to indulge in corruption, the Maharashtra Fishermen Action Committee says.
नवीन मासेमारीकायद्याला विरोध
शिक्षेच्या अधिकारावर आक्षेप.
रत्नागिरी, ता. ३० : मंत्रिमंडळानेमहाराष्ट्र सागरी मासेमारी नियमन१९८१ च्या कायद्यात केलेले बद्दल,हे बेकायदेशीर बोटींना मासेमारीसपरवानगी देणे आणि भ्रष्ट अधिकाऱ्यांनाकायद्याने भ्रष्टाचार करण्यासाठी पारितकेले आहेत, असा गंभीर आरोप महाराष्ट्रमच्छीमार कृती समितीने केला आहे.
महाराष्ट्र सागरी मासेमारी नियमनअधिनियम १९८१ अंतर्गत कायद्याचेउल्लंघन करत असलेल्या बोटींवरकारवाई करणारा अधिकारी हामत्स्यव्यवसाय विभागांचा असून शिक्षा :लावण्याचा अधिकार महसूल विभागाच्या अभिनिर्णय अधिकारी म्हणून तहसीलदारांकडे होता. परंतु, कारवाईच्या प्रकरणांमध्ये वाढ होत असल्याचे. कारण देऊन तहसीलदाराऐवजी मत्स्यव्यवसायअधिकाऱ्यास अभिनिर्णण अधिकारी म्हणून नव्या अध्यादेशात घोषित केळेआहे.

भ्रष्टाचार करण्याची कायदेशीर मुंमी
गुन्हेगारांना पकडण्याचे काम पोलिसांचे असते आणि शिक्षा देण्याचे कामन्यायाथीज्ञांचे असते. परंतु नवीन कायद्यामध्ये पोलिस गुन्हेमारांना पकडतीळ आणि हेच पोलिस रिक्षा सुनावतीळ याचाच अर्थ भ्रष्टाचार करणाऱ्यांना मत्स्यव्यवसाय अधिकाऱ्याला भ्रष्टाचार करण्याची कायदेशीर मुभा देण्यात आली आहे, अस मत महाराष्ट्र मच्छीमार कृती समितीने माडळे आहे.
