"Coastal" issue resolved
The distance between the pillars will increase, relief to the Koli community
Changes in coastal road pillars will change the entire project layout. A full engineering and consulting team is working on the new changes. Also, all these things will affect the duration of the project, said Mantaiah Swamy, Chief Engineer, Coastal Road Project.
TISS to submit a report within a month
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has been appointed to study the impact of coastal road work on livelihoods. Accordingly, the preliminary report of the results has been sent by the committee as per the first meeting. Chief Engineer Mantaiah Swamy said that the final report is expected within a month. Therefore, Swamy said that cooperation is expected from members of the Koli community.
Mumbai, 14th: The Koli community raised the issue of impact on the passage of fishing boats due to the 'Coastal Road' project in Mumbai. Finally, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to increase the distance between the two pillars by giving a decision in favor of the Koli brothers. Due to this new change, the pillar 'PP8' will be omitted. The municipality has decided to increase the earlier limited distance of 60 meters between the two pillars of the Coastal Shed to 120 meters. Therefore, the project work is likely to take more time with the change in this entire plan.
Earlier, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on October 7 to resolve the issue of gap between pillars. After this another meeting was held on 13th October. It included NIO, Coast Guard, MMB, Fisheries Department, Police and municipal officials along with representatives of the Koli community. After the Chief Minister's order, a seven-member committee was appointed to find a solution to this issue. The meeting of NIO and Worli Koli Society was held on November 9. Accordingly, the committee made some suggestions.
The committee suggested that the distance between the two pillars should be 120 meters, especially the distance between PP7 or PP9 and PP8 and PP10 should be 120 meters. Accordingly, temporary pillars were shown at PP7 to PP10. After inspecting this structure, the committee finally suggested that the PP8 pillar should be removed.
The committee submitted its report to the Municipal Commissioner. Accordingly, it was suggested that the PP8 pillar should be removed. The Commissioner has approved the recommendations of the Committee's report.

खांबांतील अंतर वाढणार; कोळी बांधवांना दिलासा
कोस्टल रोडच्या खांबांमधील बदलांमुळे संपूर्ण प्रकल्पाचा आराखडा बदलणारआहे. सपूर्ण अभियांत्रिकी आणि सल्लागारांचे पथक नव्या बदळांवर कामकरत आहि. तसेच प्रकल्पाच्या काळावधीवरही या सर्व गोष्टींचा परिणाम होईल.- मंतय्या स्वामी, मुख्य अभियंता, कोस्टल रोड प्रकल्प.

कोस्टल रोडच्या कामामुळे उपजीविकेच्या साधनांवर होणारा परिणाम अभ्यासण्यासाठीटाटा सामाजिक विज्ञान संस्थेची नेमणूक करण्यात आली आहे. त्यानुसारपरिणामांचा प्राथमिक अहवाल समितीने पहिल्या बैठकीनुसार पाठवला आहे. अंतिमअहवाल महिन्याभरात अपेक्षित असल्याचे मुख्य अभियंता मंतय्या स्वामी यांनी सांगीतया प्रकल्पाचे सार्वजनिकदृष्ट्य़ा खूप परिणाम असणार आहेत. त्यामुळे कोळी बांथबातया प्रकल्पामध्ये सहकार्य अपेक्षित असल्याचे स्वामी यांनी सांगितले.
मुंबई, ता. १४: मुंबईतील 'कोस्टलरोड' प्रकल्पामुळे बोटींच्या वाहतुकीवरपरिणाम होण्याचा मुद्दा कोळी समाजानेउचलून धरला होता. अखेर मुंबईमहापालिकेने कोळी बांधवांच्या बाजूनेनिर्णय देत दोन खांबांमध्ये (पिलर)अंतर वाढवण्याचा निर्णय घेतला आहे.या नव्या बदलामुळे 'पी पी ८' हाखांब वगळण्यात येणार आहे. कोस्टल"शेडच्या दोन खांबांमधील ६० मीटरइतके याआधीचे मर्यादित अंतर वाढवतआता १२० मौटर इतके करण्याचानिर्णय पालिकेने घेतला आहे. त्यामुळेप प आराखड्यात बदल होतानाच याप्रकल्पाच्या कामामध्येही वेळ अधिकलागण्याची शक्‍यता आहे.
मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदेयांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली याआधी ७ऑक्टोबरला खांबांमधील अंतराच्या'विषयावर तोडगा काढण्यासाठी एकबैठक झाली होती. यानंतर आणखी_ एक बैठक १३ ऑक्टोबरला झाली.त्यामध्ये एनआयओ, कोस्यमार्ड,एमएमबी, फिशरीज विभाग, पोलिसआणि पालिका अधिकाऱ्यांसह कोळीसमाजाच्या प्रतिनिधींचाही समावेशहोता. मुख्यमंत्र्यांया आदेशानंतरया विषयावर तोडगा काढण्यासाठीसातसदस्यीय समितीची नेमणूककरण्यात आली. एनआयओ तसेचवरळीतील कोळी समाजाच्यासोसायटीची बैठक ९ नोव्हेंबरलापडली. त्यानुसार समितीने काही सूचनामांडल्या.
त्यात दोन खांबांमधील अंतर १२०मीटर असावे, असे समितीने सुचवले,खासकरून पीपी ७ किंवा पीपी ९ तसेचपीपी ८ आणि पीपी १० यांच्यातीलअंतर हे १२० मीटर असावे, असेहीसमितीने सांगितले. त्यानुसार तात्पुरत्यास्वरूपाचे मनोरे हे पीपी ७ ते पीपी १०या ठिकाणी दर्शवण्यात आले. समितीनेया रचनेच्या पाहणीनंतर अखेर पीपी८ हा खांब काढावा, असे मत मांडले.
समितीने आपला अहबाल पालिकाआयुक्तांना सादर केला. त्यानुसार पीपी८ खांब काढून टाकण्यात यावा, असेत्यामध्ये सुचवण्यात आले. आयुक्तांनीसमितीच्या अहवालातील सूचनेलामान्यता दिली आहे. |
