There has been a demand for the construction of a flyover from Madh to Versova Bay for several years. But there was opposition from Versova and the project failed.

On the third of last month, ferry service from Versova had been inaugurated by the district Guardian Minister Vinod Tawde and MP Gopal Shetty. On that occasion, there was a strong protest against the ferries in the Madh area. When tempers and emotions ran high, Vinod Tawde promised to hold a joint meeting of the villagers, community representatives and concerned government officials.

The flyover will improve connectivity between Versova and Madh and develop villages. Also, MP Gopal Shetty expressed the opinion that care should be taken that no one will be harmed due to this project.
