Madh, Manori islands soon to be connected to Mumbai via bridges: Municipality to construct bridges in the creeks

Mumbai, 17: The Municipal Corporation has decided to connect both the islands of Madh and Manori in the western suburbs with bridges. Bay bridges will be built from Versova to Madh Island; and from Malad Marve to Manori Island. For the first time these two islands will be directly connected to the Mumbai mainland.
If you want to go back and forth from Versova, there is a ferry service. Although the main occupation of the citizens here is fishing, a large number of people come to Mumbai for livelihood and education. Films and serials are also shot in this place on a large scale. The beach and the fort over here has always been a tourist attraction in Mumbai. After the ferry service stops at night, this island loses its connection with Mumbai. Similar is the situation in Manori and Gorai villages. If you want to go to this area by road, you have to go through Mira-Bhayander. The beaches here are popular for day trips away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. Therefore, the municipality has taken this decision. A consultant will be appointed by the municipality for that.
Work on six other bridges to be undertaken
A traffic bridge at Evershine Nagar nullah at Malad, a bridge at Dharveel village on Marve road, another bridge near Infinity Mall and a bridge from Oshiwara River to Malad Bay is going to be built. The municipal corporation has started the process of appointing contractors for these six bridges, for which the municipality will pay a fee of 1 crore 50 lakhs.

मुंबई, ता. १७: पश्‍चिम उपनगरातीलमढ आणि मनोरी ही दोन्ही बेटे पुलांनी जोडण्याचा निर्णय महापालिकेने घेतलाआहे. वर्सोबापासून मढ बेटापर्यंत; तर मालाड मार्वेपासून मनोरी बेटापर्यंत खाडी पूल बांधण्यात येणार आहे. प्रथमच ही दोन बेटे मुंबईच्या मुख्य भूमीशी थेट जोडली जाणार आहेत.
वर्सोबावरू्न मढला जायचेझाल्यास फेरीबोटीचा आधारहोता. येथील नागरिकांचा प्रमुखव्यवसाय मासेमारी असला तरीरोजीरोटी आणि शिक्षणासाठी मुंबईतयेणाऱ्यांची संख्याही मोठी आहे. याठिकाणी चित्रपट आणि मालिकांचेचित्रीकरणही मोठ्या प्रमाणात होते.या ठिकाणचा समुद्र किनारा, किल्लानेहमीच मुंबईतील पर्यटकांचे आकर्षणठरला आहे. रात्री फेरीबोट सेवा बंदझाल्यानंतर या बेटाचा मुंबईशी संपर्कचतुटतो. अशीच काहीशी परिस्थितीमनोरी, गोराई गावांची आहे. या भागात रस्तावरून जायचे झाल्यास मिरा-भाईंदरमधून जावे लागते. येथील किनारेमुंबईतील वर्दळीपासून दूर असल्यानेएक दिवसाच्या सहलीसाठी प्रसिद्धआहेत. त्यामुळे पालिकेने हा निर्णयघेतला आहे. त्यासाठी पालिकेकडून सल्लागार नियुक्‍त करण्यात येणार आहे.
अन्य सहा पुलांचेही काम
मालाड येथे एव्हरश्ञाईन नगर नाल्यावरवाहतूक पूल, मार्वे रस्त्यावर धारवीलगाव येथे पूळ, इन्फिनिटी मॉलजवळपूळ आणि ओशिवरा नदी ते मालाडखाडीवर पूळ बांधण्यात येणार आहे.या सहा पुलांसाठी महापालिकेनेकंत्राटदार नियुक्तीची प्रक्रिया सुरूकेली असून, त्यासाठी एक कोटी ५०लाखांचे शुल्क पालिका देणार आहे.
